IRTS Officer Geeta Mohapatra Appointed CVO, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited

Geeta Mohapatra, presently serving as Director and CEO of the Hassan Mangalore Rail Development Company Limited on deputation, has been appointed Chief Vigilance Officer at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bengaluru, under the Department of Defence Production, for a period of three years. She is an officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service.

HAL, India's largest defence aerospace public sector undertaking, manufactures and maintains military aircraft, helicopters and aero-engines, and its CVO's office oversees vigilance and anti-corruption compliance across the company's design, procurement and manufacturing functions — a role reporting both to HAL's management and the Central Vigilance Commission.

Mohapatra's prior posting running a railway joint-venture company would have given her direct experience managing large infrastructure and procurement operations, background relevant to a vigilance role overseeing a manufacturing PSU of HAL's scale.

Her appointment comes as HAL continues to scale up production under long-term defence contracts, adding to the vigilance office's workload in monitoring procurement and contractor compliance across the company's multiple production divisions.

The three-year appointment takes effect on deputation basis under the Department of Defence Production.
