Mrinalini Shrivastava Posted as Inspector General, BPR&D, on Three-Year Deputation
Mrinalini Shrivastava, IPS (Sikkim:2002) and Director at the NDMA, has been posted as Inspector General at BPR&D on deputation for a period of three years.
Mrinalini Shrivastava, an IPS officer of the Sikkim cadre and the 2002 batch, has been posted as Inspector General in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) on deputation for three years. She is at present Director at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
BPR&D comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs and works on police research, training and modernisation. Its Inspector General posts are filled by IPS officers from state cadres on central deputation.
Shrivastava's current post at NDMA is a deputation post as well. A separate Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) decision describes her as Director (Finance) at the authority. A 2017 Department of Personnel and Training circular describes that post as one filled on deputation through the Civil Services Board procedure, outside the Central Staffing Scheme.
She is not the first Sikkim-cadre IPS officer to serve at the bureau. Ruchika Rishi, of the 2004 batch, was appointed Inspector General, BPR&D, under a Home Ministry memorandum dated June 15, 2023.
The posting is on deputation basis for three years.
