Himachal Pradesh Transfers IAS Officers: Rahul Kumar Made HRTC Managing Director, New DCs for Bilaspur and Lahaul-Spiti

The Himachal Pradesh government has transferred the Deputy Commissioners of two districts and changed responsibilities at the Secretary level.

Rahul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur, has been appointed Managing Director of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC). He replaces Shivam Pratap Singh, who was holding additional charge of the post.

Kiran Bhadana, Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul-Spiti, has been appointed the new Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur. Nivedita Negi, Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Lahaul-Spiti.

At the Secretary level, Dr Yunus, Secretary (State Taxes and Excise), has been given additional charge of the General Administration Department, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, and Parliamentary Affairs. Ashish Singhmar, Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), has been relieved of those additional responsibilities.

The orders connect three posts in a chain. Rahul Kumar's move to HRTC vacates Bilaspur, which Bhadana fills from Lahaul-Spiti, and Negi's move from the Public Service Commission fills Lahaul-Spiti. The Deputy Commissioner is the head of district administration, and Bilaspur and Lahaul-Spiti are very different districts. Lahaul-Spiti is a high-altitude tribal district, while Bilaspur lies in the lower hills.

HRTC, the state's road transport corporation, now has a regular Managing Director in place of an officer holding additional charge.
