Bihar Police Posts 10 IPS Officers As SPs, SDOPs In District Rejig
Bihar has reassigned 10 IPS officers, with new SP and SDOP postings across Patna, Jehanabad, Jamui, Bhagalpur and Muzaffarpur.
As many as 10 IPS officers have been given new assignments in Bihar, with the state police headquarters issuing fresh postings for Superintendents of Police and Sub-Divisional Police Officers across several districts.
Puran Jha, a 2018-batch officer, has been assigned responsibility as SP of the Vigilance Investigation Bureau, the wing that probes corruption complaints against government officials and prosecutes cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The posting places him at the centre of Bihar's anti-graft enforcement machinery at a time the bureau has been pushing to clear a backlog of pending inquiries.
Komal Meena, from the 2023 batch, has been appointed the new SP of Patna Rural, one of the more closely watched districts given its proximity to the state capital and the volume of law-and-order coordination it requires with Patna city police. Sushma Nagar, also 2023 batch, has been posted as SDOP-II for Law and Order in Patna, a role focused on crowd management, VIP security coordination and processions in the district.
The remaining postings involve younger officers from the 2024 batch moving into SDOP charges: Aniket Kumar Dwivedi shifts from Assistant SP, Samastipur, to SDOP-I, Jehanabad; Deepti Monali moves from ASP, Gaya, to SDOP of Jamui; and Hemant Singh, previously ASP, East Champaran, takes over as SDOP of Bhagalpur.
The reassignments reflect the standard rotation Bihar Police follows for newly inducted IPS officers, who typically serve as Assistant Superintendents before moving into independent SDOP charges within their first two years of service, giving them exposure to sub-divisional law-and-order responsibility ahead of eventual SP postings.
Kartikeya AK, from West Champaran, takes charge as SDOP of Muzaffarpur, while Ketan Ashok Ingole moves from Darbhanga to SDOP, Rajauli, in Nawada district. Prasanna Kumar MB shifts from Muzaffarpur to SDOP of Narkatiaganj in West Champaran, and Saim Raza, previously ASP in Bhagalpur, takes over as SDOP of Bhagalpur.
All 10 postings take effect with immediate effect as per the order issued by Bihar Police headquarters.
