In order to order to strengthen the security system and enhance passenger convenience, a new In-Line Baggage Screening System was inaugurated on 20 th September, 20 at AAI’s Srinagar International Airport. Shri B. V. R. Subrahmanyam, Chief

In-Line Baggage Screening System (ILBS) with CTX 9800 DSI (Computed Tomography) scanners has been commissioned the cost of Rs. 12.67 crore. This In- Line hold baggage
system (HBS) is integrated with airport Baggage Handling System (BHS) to provide a
complete hold baggage processing and screening system.
The existing registered X-ray machines installed at check in area to screen registered baggage
are in stand-alone mode. Stand-alone machines occupy space at departure lounges and also
cause big queues, which disrupt passenger flow during peak hours. Keeping in view the
security, multi-level CT-EDS based in-line detection system is installed at Srinagar Airport.
Now, passengers will not be required to scan their registered baggage before dropping at the
check-in counters, resulting in faster passenger processing, minimum queuing time, and less
congestion at check-in area.
