Haryana Government Announces Major IAS and HCS Officer Reshuffle

In a significant administrative exercise aimed at streamlining governance, the Haryana government on Tuesday issued transfer and posting orders for 26 senior IAS and Haryana State Civil Services (HCS) officers. The reshuffle impacts several key departments, marking a strategic realignment of the state's bureaucratic leadership.

Among the notable changes, Rajeev Ranjan (IAS:1998), currently serving as Principal Secretary for the Labour Department, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of the Fisheries Department. Meanwhile, Amneet P. Kumar (IAS:2001) moves to the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, while retaining her roles in the Department of Future and Sports. Shekhar Vidyarthi (IAS:2004) takes on the role of Chairman of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board in addition to his ongoing duties.

The reshuffle also sees J. Ganesan (IAS:2006) transitioning to a pivotal role as Director General of Town & Country Planning and Secretary of the Urban Estates department. Chander Shekhar Khare (IAS:2008) has been appointed as the Managing Director of HAFED, while Sharandeep Kaur Brar (IAS:2009) steps into the role of Director General of Urban Local Bodies. These shifts reflect the government's focus on bolstering urban development and civil infrastructure management.

Key Strategic Realignment

Other major appointments include:

• Mani Ram Sharma (IAS:2009) shifts from the Health Department to become the Secretary of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department.
• Rajnarayan Kaush (IAS:2010) assumes the role of Managing Director at HARTRON and the State Warehousing Corporation Limited.
• Vinay Pratap Singh (IAS:2011) has been named the Managing Director of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and the Haryana Financial Corporation.
• Mukul Kumar (IAS:2011) takes charge as the Chief Administrator of the Haryana Shaheri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in Panchkula.
• Anish Yadav (IAS:2014) is appointed as the new Excise & Taxation Commissioner, also holding responsibilities within the Finance Department.

The reshuffle also encompasses significant changes within the HCS cadre to ensure operational continuity at the ground level. Virat (HCS:2011) has been appointed as the Controller of Printing & Stationery, while Suresh Ravesh (HCS:2019) has been posted as the Joint Transport Commissioner. Further, Jagdeep Singh (HCS:2013) moves to Hisar to serve as the Estate Officer for HSVP and Land Acquisition Officer, ensuring regional administrative oversight.

The government's decision to redistribute these portfolios is viewed as a move to enhance the efficiency of externally-aided projects and optimize the delivery of public services. By placing experienced officers in critical roles within the Department of Future, Urban Estates, and the State Warehousing Corporation, the state administration aims to expedite ongoing developmental projects. These transitions are effective immediately, and the officers are expected to assume their new charges to maintain the momentum of the state's ongoing infrastructure and administrative initiatives.
