Bihar Administrative Churn: Sidelined Officers Reach Out to Nitish Kumar, Sources Say
Officers sidelined under Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary have reportedly reached out to Nitish Kumar, sources say, as the Home Secretary post changes hands.
Several senior civil servants in Bihar who carried out key policies under Nitish Kumar have been sidelined in an administrative overhaul, according to sources. Some of them have reportedly contacted Nitish Kumar privately.
The Home Secretary's post has changed hands more than twice since Samrat Choudhary took charge as Chief Minister. The Home Department controls policing, law and order and prison administration in the state.
The sources say the churn has created unease within the Bihar cadre. They describe a gap between experienced administrators and the new government's leadership, and say it is slowing decisions.
The report comes as the Bihar government moved retired IAS officer Deepak Kumar, adviser to the Chief Minister, to the state disaster management authority. He was the last officer in the CMO from Nitish Kumar's term.
The claims are attributed to unnamed sources. The Bihar government has not issued a statement on them.
